Sára Kousková Secures Landmark Victory on the Ladies European Tour

Czech golfer Sára Kousková has captured her maiden title on the Ladies European Tour (LET) with a commanding performance at the 2025 Jabra Ladies Open, held at the prestigious Evian Resort Golf Club in France. With a final round of 67 (-4), the 25-year-old showcased nerves of steel and exceptional skill to finish at 10-under-par and secure her spot among the elite.

Rising to the Top: Kousková’s Breakthrough Victory

Kousková entered the final round trailing Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini by a single stroke. However, she quickly turned the tide with back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 8, followed by another birdie on the 10th. Despite a bogey on the 14th hole, Kousková remained unfazed, sealing her win with clutch birdies on 17 and 18.

“Winning here at Evian means so much to me,” Kousková shared following her round. “We talked about this at the start of the season—how amazing it would be to win the Jabra Ladies Open. Now that it’s real, I couldn’t be prouder of our hard work.”

Her triumph marks a significant milestone, not only for Kousková but also for Czech golf. “Claiming victory at Evian is truly a remarkable feeling,” Kousková said after finishing her round.”

A Display of Mental Strength and Confidence

Mental resilience played a crucial role in Kousková’s success. Although she admitted to feeling nervous throughout the tournament, she leaned on her mental preparation to stay composed under pressure.

“All the mental training paid off. It was tough—especially confidence-wise—but I stuck to my fundamentals and stayed focused,” she explained.

Her ability to bounce back after mistakes and remain calm during high-stakes moments, such as her pivotal birdie putt on 17, was instrumental in her victory.

LET Milestone Leads to Major Championship Opportunities

With her win at the Jabra Ladies Open, Kousková earned her first LET title and secured coveted entries into two major championships: The Amundi Evian Championship and the AIG Women’s Open.

“It’s incredible. Getting into majors was one of our goals this season; now we’re in two. I can’t wait to compete at that level,” she said excitedly.

Celebrating with fellow Czech players Klara Davidson Spilkova and Kristyna Napoleaova made the moment even more meaningful.

Shannon Tan’s Resilient Final Round Secures Second Place

Singapore’s Shannon Tan also performed well, finishing second at 8-under-par after a 68 (-3) final round. Despite a rough start that included a double bogey on the first hole and a bogey on the second, Tan bounced back with birdies on the third, sixth, eighth, and 11th holes.

“The start was tough, but I stayed calm and focused on hitting good shots,” Tan remarked. “This course has always challenged me, so I’m happy with how I handled it this year.”

Tan added birdies on 15 and 16, dropped a shot on 17, and finished with a flourish on 18. Her strong comeback effort solidified her position as a rising talent in women’s golf.

Tight Leaderboard Highlights Growing Depth on the LET

Cara Gainer of England and Maha Haddioui of Morocco both carded final rounds of 67 (-4), finishing in a tie for third place at seven under par.
